The American Cup, one of the few international competitions held in the U.S., is next Saturday, March 1 in New York City (and will air live on NBC at 1 pm). This week, the roster of competitors was finalized:

Women:
Alyssa Brown (Canada), Xiao Tingting (China), Natalia Sanchez (Colombia), Joeline Moebius (Germany), Shawn Johnson (USA/West Des Moines, Iowa), Nastia Liukin (USA/Parker, Texas), Samantha Peszek (USA/Indianapolis, Ind.), Shayla Worley (USA/Orlando, Fla.)

Men:
Lu Bo (China), Fabian Hambuechen (Germany), Hisashi Mizutori (Japan), Flavius Koczi (Romania), Alexander Artemev (USA/Lakewood, Colo.), Raj Bhavsar (USA/Houston), Paul Hamm (USA/Waukesha, Wis.), Jonathan Horton (USA/Houston)

Though the women's international field looks a bit weak, the American women will showcase some great gymnastics -- with Liukin, Johnson and Worley battling for the all-around win. And the men's side will be an exciting competition, with the reigning Olympic champion (Hamm), and the 2007 all-around silver medalist (Hambuechen), bronze medalist (Mizutori) and 4th place finisher (Horton).

My picks right now are for Johnson and Hamm to win, but I think both the men's and women's meets will be close. POLL: Who do you think will win?
