The U.S. men's artistic, women's artistic and rhythmic teams all won gold at the Pacific Rim Championships held this past weekend in San Jose, California. In an American Cup déjà vu, Nastia Liukin and Paul Hamm won the all-around titles in their respective senior meets, with solid performances and some very high scores for Liukin (16.650 on bars and 16.400 on beam).

In the junior divisions, Rebecca Bross (women's artistic) and Danell Leyva (men's artistic) took home gold in the all-around along with Nani Vercruyssen (women's trampoline) and Marlee Shape (rhythmics). Samantha Shapiro, one of my favorite up-and-comers because of her gorgeous form and technique, took second in the all-around and won bars.

The meet will be televised on April 13 at 4:30 pm on NBC.

I love Samantha’s mount on beam! It shows impressive strength and elegance. She is definitely one to keep an eye on.
