China Dominates the World Cup

The Chinese men's and women's team won all but two events at the Tianjin World Cup. Though it was a somewhat diluted international field -- no Americans or Romanians, and the Japanese top men weren't competing, among others -- the performance of the Chinese was very impressive.

Five-time World Champion Cheng Fei won vault, beam, and floor, while teammate Yang Yilin took the bars title and won silver on floor.

On the men's side, China's Xiao Qin won pommel horse, Chen Yibing took rings (with a 17.00!), Li Xiaopeng
the parallel bars, and Zou Kai won high bar. The only non-Chinese event champions were Ri Se Gwang (North Korea) on vault and Kohei Uchimura (Japan) on floor.

The Chinese men are considered by many to be the best in the world, but the Chinese women are making the case to be favorites as well. With some very high A scores (Yang Yilin and He Kexin have 7.7s on bars, the same as American Nastia Liukin; Cheng Fei and Jiang Yuyuan have a 6.5-rated Amanar vault) and their usually-high B scores, they could be the ones to beat in Beijing.

What do you think? Who will win the women's Olympic team final?

Full results of the competition.
