Two-time national champ Shawn Johnson is in first after day one of the US Olympic Trials. The 16-year-old hit all four of her difficult sets and ended up with an even 64.00 all-around. Half a point behind (63.50) is Nastia Liukin, who had a great night except for a low landing on her problematic double front half uneven bars dismount.

In a deja vu from US Nationals earlier in the month, the top eight gymnasts all ended up the same place as at Nationals: 1. Shawn Johnson 2. Nastia Liukin 3. Chellsie Memmel 4. Samantha Peszek 5. Ivana Hong 6. Jana Bieger 7. Mattie Larson 8. Corrie Lothrop

This competition will air tomorrow night on NBC at 8 p.m.

The women compete again on Sunday night, which will be shown live on NBC starting at 7 p.m. At least two gymnasts will be named to the Olympic Team at this time, with the others named after a final training camp in July.
