The entire US men's Olympic team was announced today: Joe Hagerty, Morgan Hamm, Paul Hamm, Jonathan Horton, Justin Spring, and Kevin Tan. The alternates are Sasha Artemev, Raj Bhavsar, and David Durante.

I would have loved to see Bhavsar make the team because he just missed out in 2004 (and I thought he should have made the team then), and because he hit so solidly both days at Trials. But he's unlucky to be good on many events, without being an extraordinary specialist (like Kevin Tan) on a few events. Regardless, this team has great scoring potential and could very well bring home a medal in Beijing.

Says reigning Olympic Champion Paul Hamm, "The team goal is to win a medal of some kind. It will be hard to get a gold because of how strong China is, but I think the United States can compete with some of the best countries in the world. It's really similar this year to how it was the last Olympics."
