It's no more realistic than the pilot episode (parents standing by the beam during practice?), but is it possible this episode was more entertaining? Maybe I'm just getting used to it.
As Lou said in the comments of my other post about the show, the scene at the gas station is comically bad. But we did get to find out what was in the photos used to blackmail Marty! Updated (8/6): More episodes of Make It or Break It:

its so unrealistic and the girls are doing skils that are level 8-9 i could see those skills at my gym for crying outloud!
I thought it was better than the first episode. I think we need to ignore the level of gymnastics in order to enjoy the show and just appreciate that it has some gymnastics in it.
The show’s awesome, it’s NOT just about gymnastics, it shows the pressure of being world-CLASS. You don’t seem to understand.
