Rebecca Bross of WOGA tops the senior all-around standings after the first night of the US nationals (called the Visa Championships). Bross is coming off of an ankle injury just a few weeks ago, but looked solid on everything but her beam dismount (a double Arabian -- she sat it down). Most impressive to me was her floor tumbling: She threw a front layout to double front mount and a back 1.5 to front double full.
WOGA teammate Ivana Hong is in second, with the best score of the day on beam (15.15 -- nice, smooth set). Olympian Bridget Sloan sits in third, after a fall on beam (tour jete half), but tied for first on vault with a solid Yurchenko double twist. She's also added a very cool toe-on piked Tkatchev on bars.
Fellow Olympians Nastia Liukin, Chellsie Memmel, and Samantha Peszek didn't compete in the all-around. Peszek looked great on three events, with an aggressive beam set (standing tucked full to back pike) and a new double layout second pass on floor. Liukin and Memmel both did beam only, and performed well considering their lack of training time. Liukin scored a 14.45, while Memmel garnered a 13.80

Thanks for the recapp! I really like Becca Bross and Ivana Hong. WOGA has quite the powerhouse going on. As does Sharp’s.
