The Canadian team for worlds in October is: Dominique Pegg, Talia Chiarelli, Kristina Vaculik, Peng Peng Lee, Mikaela Gerber, Coralie Leblond-Chartrand and Madeline Gardiner.
One gymnast I'm excited to see at worlds? Peng Peng Lee. She's battled through tons of injuries, and has never gotten much of a chance to compete as a senior.
Check out her beam set from this year.
Though this wasn't her best set, she's got some seriously cool tricks. She does flairs as a mount, competes a switch leap to aerial to layout step-out, and throws in a barani and illusion as well.

Wow, after what Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency stated last Friday, I cannot believe that the national gymnastics teams are STILL planning on attending the World Championships in Tokyo.
Here is what was stated:
———————————————–
“TOKYO (AP) — The amount of radioactive cesium that has leaked from the tsunami-hit nuclear plant is about equal to 168 of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima at the end of World War II, Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, said Friday.”

I’ve recently spoken to a friend of mine, who is a retired Radiologist. And, she has insisted the following:
“There is NO WAY I would allow my two granddaughters to visit Tokyo even for a day, much less for the entire week before that gymnastics event! The risk to their reproductive systems is far too high!”
Hmmm…I take it, nobody really cares.
OK, then, I won’t worry about it, either.
It’s their loss, not mine!
