Who Will Win in London?

By , About.com GuideNovember 28, 2011

Follow me on:

Gymnast Shawn Johnson on beam at the 2008 Olympic Podium Training for GymnasticsWe're still eight months away from the opening ceremonies in London, and, of course, there are tons of question marks right now: Will Aliya Mustafina and Rebecca Bross be healed from their knee injuries? Will Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson have enough time to put together routines that can help team USA? Will Romania regroup after its medal-less worlds? Which gymnasts will be able to upgrade their routines? And what about Alicia Sacramone's Achilles injury?

Despite all the questions, and the fact that none of the Olympic teams have been named yet, I've put together some Olympic medalist predictions for 2012, at least on the women's side. They'll surely need to be revised as more questions are answered during these final months, but here are the frontrunners for Olympic gymnastics medals, right now.

Ummm….I think I’d put my money on the gymnast who has the least deductions, to win in London.

But that’s just my opinion. ;)
