Olympic all-around champ Gabby Douglas won the 2012 Women's Sports Foundation's Sportswoman of the Year award for individual sports, announced Wednesday in New York City.
Nastia Liukin won this award in 2008, and other greats like Jackie Joyner-Kersee and fellow gymnast Mary Lou Retton have earned it as well.
The winner was selected based on a combined score from public voting and the WSF awards committee.
