Flyaway

By Amy Van Deusen, About.com

Definition: A flyaway is a basic gymnastics skill performed as a dismount from the high bar, uneven bars, and rings. In a flyaway, the gymnast swings forward, releases, and performs a back flip off of the bar or rings.

Elite gymnasts perform very difficult variations of the flyaway dismount with multiple flips and twists.
Examples: A layout flyaway

Shawn Johnson performs a double twisting double layout flyaway
