2012 Olympic Gymnastics Team (Women): The Fierce Five

Rebecca Bross was the runner-up at the 2009 worlds and the bronze medalist in 2010, both times with a fall during the competition. Bross gritted through many injuries in the past, but suffered a big one at the 2011 nationals: she dislocated her knee on vault, and was only able to come back to compete on bars and beam in 2012. Bross didn't seem to be 100 percent at nationals and Olympic Trials -- she struggled on both events at times, and wasn't picked for the team. Bross has had a very successful career, though, and remains one of the most decorated US gymnasts ever.
