Tell us about the gyms you've worked at or attended in Florida. All reviews can be anonymous, but be sure to include as much info as you can to help others decide if the gym is right for them:
- Whether you're a gymnast, coach, or parent, and what level you are (e.g. Parent of a level 5 gymnast)
- What you like and don't like about the gym. Talk about equipment, coaching, costs, and anything else you'd like here.
- Would you recommend the gym?
Put the name of the gym in your response title -- gyms will be sorted alphabetically -- and only review one gym per post. If you'd like to review more, submit them separately. Review a Gym

Apollo School of Gymnastics: Clearwater
- This is a very stupendous gymnastic school to go to. There are lots of friendly coaches and it's in a very nice building. http://apollogymnastics.com

Orlando Metro Gymnastics
- Jeff Wood is a lazy, washed up coach. He is not motivated at all to help each girl reach their potential. It used to be that you would "put up" with all of his tirades because he was a good coach. He has checked out, he does not have any motivation to help these young girls overcome obstacles, he just writes them off! Putting up with poor treatment and degrading treatment no where near worth it anymore!

Dance And Gymnastics Academy Tampa
- I have had many negative experiences here, I am a gymnast there and now looking for a new gym. This is the only one in my are, I was screamed at by a coach who wasnt mine. They do not teach new things and try to perfect the perfect.

Tampa Bay Turners: St. Petersburg, FL
- Children at the team level are coached by intimidation. Coaches are young and don't understand how to use positive reinforcement to motivate kids. It is not uncommon to see kids crying during workouts or hear about them crying on the way home due to the way they were treated by a coach. Children are often embarrassed or humiliated by their coaches. Parents are just a checkbook, not made to feel comfortable to ask questions to coaches or owners. If parents talk to each other there are consequences, as in being called out by the coaches and told if it happens again they they and/or their child will not be allowed back. The booster club holds the parents hostage. You must be a member, pay what they tell you, and you're not allowed to see how the money is spent. They will not show the club books to the parents who pay into it. The officers are picked by the owners and hold office as long as they wish. Only 1 meeting to 'tell' you how much you must pay. There are other choices for gymnastics clubs. http://www.tampabayturners.com/index.shtml

Cats Gymnastics: Boca Raton
- This gym is always filled with happy preschoolers and children up to the age of 12 or so. They are busiest during Open Gym, which is free to the community, and I have taken photographs at a few of their birthday parties, which seem fun but under control. The kids get to tumble and play, then celebrate. http://www.catsgymnastics.com/

Florida Gymnastics Training Center
- FGTC is in Miami, FL. I had a very negative experience and would not recommend this club. I was very disappointed in the unprofessional behavior from the adult coaches and gym owners. Children are disrespected and treated very poorly, and injured gymnasts are given consequences for not training when they are clearly injured. Although the gym was thought to have an experienced coaching staff, they were not using their books and many competitive errors were made as a result of incorrect coaching. http://fgtc.net/
