The skill is named after Takashi Ono of Japan, and has been performed by some of the best bar workers in the world: Nastia Liukin, Hollie Vise, and Beth Tweddle, to name a few.
Liukin performs an immediate half pirouette after, then goes right into a Gienger release move. Now that’s impressive.

The Ono is one of my favorite moves too! It is just so pretty when done right.
What is the skill called if a man does it? And was it first done by a man or woman?
