USA Gymnastics has announced the team for next week's PAGU (Pan American Gymnastics Union) Individual Event Championships. On the women's side:
  • Corrie Lothrop (2008 Olympic alternate)
  • Rebecca Bross (2007 Junior National Champion)
  • Olivia Courtney (2008 Olympic Trials participant)
  • Samantha Shapiro (2008 Junior National Runner-Up)
On the men's side:
  • Glen Ishino (2008 Junior National Champion)
  • Danell Leyva (2008 J.O. National Champion)
Shapiro and Bross are making their senior debuts after impressive junior careers. Many think that Bross will be the next big star out of WOGA -- following in the shoes of Carly Patterson and Nastia Liukin. It's rumored that Lothrop has an Amanar vault, which could make her the new vaulter for the US team, following the retirement of Alicia Sacramone.
