Sad news for 2010 world all-around champ Aliya Mustafina: she tore her ACL at the European Championships and will have knee surgery Wednesday. According to International Gymnast, she's using the same surgeon Oksana Chusovitina has used -- one in Munich, Germany.
Mustafina dominated the prelims of the meet, qualifying to all four event finals and outpacing second-place finisher Anna Dementyeva by nearly three points in the all-around prelims. Unfortunately, Mustafina injured her knee in the first rotation of the all-around finals, on an Amanar vault. Dementyeva went on to win the competition.
