Anna Li -- one of three alternates to the US Olympic gymnastics team -- injured herself in practice on July 24. USA Gymnastics released this statement about it:
"When Anna Li fell from the uneven bars on July 24, she injured her neck and is wearing a cervical collar as a precaution. She tore a ligament in her neck, and she has been advised to wear the collar as well as check with a physician upon her return to the States. As a result, she is no longer training as a replacement athlete."
What a shame! Li was the top bar worker of the alternates, and had been thrilled to be a part of team USA. You can send well-wishes to her via Twitter (@AnnaLi_88). And follow her too -- she's very entertaining!

While I am very sorry to hear about Anna Li’s misfortune, I am puzzled as to how we’re supposed to send well-wishes to her Twitter account, when she is NOT currently following us?
You see, you can ONLY send a tweet to somebody if they are ALREADY following you. Otherwise, everyone would receive thousands of tweets everyday, and Twitter would no longer exist, because nobody would be able to keep up with all of those tweets.
Just wondering out loud.
I LOVE ANNA LI! I feel so bad that she got hurt. She is an amazing idol of mine. And um, you can send a tweet that mentions her name without her following you! I am doing that!
Feel better ANNA!!!!!!!!!!!
I lvoe Anna Li too. She is awesome on bars!! Robim, you can just include her name in a tweet and it goes to her.
Get better soon Anna Li and keep doing bars until 2016!!!
Yes, Grace and AnnaLiFan, I was already aware that you could send a tweet that included the person’s name.
But, in Twitter etiquette, doing so is akin to crashing through the skylight of someone’s dinner party, wearing a black “Fist of Goodness” costume.
