Definition: The iron cross is a strength move performed by men on the rings. In it, the gymnast holds the rings straight out on either side of his body while holding himself up.

The gymnast's body and arms are perpendicular to each other and look like a cross.

A gymnast must hold the position for 2 seconds in order to receive credit for the move.

The iron cross is a "B" element worth .20 towards a gymnast's A score. Elements are currently rated from "A" to "G" with "G" being the most difficult.
