Beijing was one of the most successful Olympics ever for US gymnastics. The American women's team took the silver, with stars such as Shawn Johnson, Chellsie Memmel, Nastia Liukin and Alicia Sacramone. Liukin and Johnson dominated the world in women's artistic, going 1-2 in the individual all-around and earning nine medals between the two of them.
On the mens side, the US team had a spectacular meet to win bronze, even after losing former Olympic medalists Paul and Morgan Hamm to injury.
The Americans were less dominant in rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline, but that doesn't mean the competition was any less fun to watch. Russia took charge in rhythmics, while China continued its amazing Olympic performance with two golds in trampoline.
